STE. EUSTACHE 鈥� Cristina Di Caprio, a senior from Laval, Que., scored in the 39th minute and freshman 鈥榢eeper Shimone Slomowitz registered her fourth shutout in five games as the 平特五不中 women鈥檚 soccer team blanked Concordia 1-0 in a Quebec indoor league quarterfinal at the Soccer complex in Trois-Rivi猫res, Sunday.

For Di Caprio, it marked her seventh goal in the last five matches of the indoor league after coming back from injury. Di Caprio and fellow striker Magalie Kolker were constant scoring threats throughout the game but were kept at bay by Concordia 鈥榢eeper Fanny Berthiaume.

鈥淲e were able to establish our possession game, but should have more scored more goals especially in the first half,鈥� said head coach Marc Mounicot.

鈥淲e are satisfied with the fact that our back line, including Slomowitz, (Caroline) Pelletier, (Katherine) Green and (Claire) Hooper were strong all afternoon. We will need a similar defensive performance in the semifinal against Laval next week.鈥�

The first-place Rouge et Or have won all eight games this winter and Mounicot says the Martlets will need to have a strong outing in order to advance to the league championship game on March 29.
Veterans Liz Williams and Maggie Keating were both injured during the game and their status for the semifinal is uncertain.

The 平特五不中-Laval sudden-death affair will be played at the St. Eustache Soccer complex on March 21 at 3 p.m. The other semifinal will feature Montreal and Sherbrooke the same day at 1 p.m.
