Desautels undergraduates secure a win at PRMIA Risk Management Challenge
Congratulations to Desautels BCom students Evan Coulter, Valentyn Litvin, Meagan Prins, and Marina Simonian for winning the听PRMIA Risk Management Challenge, marking a third consecutive victory for the Faculty. The team will advance to the International Risk Management Challenge in London, UK on April 7th, 2017 for a chance to win the grand prize of $10,000 USD. Of the fifty-three competing groups, only nine were selected to progress to the final round, with Desautels being the only team from a Quebec university out of eight to move on.听
Under the mentorship of Professors and , the students were allotted two weeks to evaluate the risk management practices of a Portuguese public-transport company, Metro do Porto, which had entered into a debt swap deal in 2007 that resulted in high interest payments for the company.
