AMURE research associates and research assistants start negotiating

Published: 19 March 2012

March 14 triggered the start of the bargaining process between the University and the bargaining teams representing research associates and research assistants. Negotiations were held in the presence of the government-appointed conciliator and the union advisor from the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC).

The University and the bargaining teams representing research associates and research assistants presented a full review of their respective proposals. Each party answered questions and addressed comments stemming from the other parties. Items that are common to both groups were identified and it was agreed they would be negotiated with the associates' and the assistants' unions concurrently.聽 For items specific to each of the unions, it was agreed to discuss these in sub-committees. Both unions also agreed on a theme-based approach to negotiations and that the English and French texts would be approved by all parties as the negotiation process evolves.

The parties agreed on a calendar of meetings every two weeks out of three.聽 The next meeting is set for March 21 without the conciliator.聽 Both groups within AMURE are negotiating their first collective agreement.

平特五不中 and AMURE have agreed on shared communications throughout the negotiation process.
