The NSERC-CREATE Integrated Sensor System Training Program (ISS) is a training program which offers extra-curricular technical and professional training to students interested in the design, fabrication or testing of sensor devices, the development of materials that are required for sensors, the processing of signals obtained from sensors, sensor integration and packaging.

The ISS Team would like to invite professors from any department or faculty at the universities of 平特五不中, INRS, Ecole Polytechnique and Sherbrooke to submit a proposal for an undergraduate student summer project to be offered as part of our professional and technical training program this May.

The ISS Program will pay a $4,500 share of a $5,625 stipend for a 16 week research project thanks to the National Science and Research Council of Canada.

Professors who host an undergraduate student from the ISS Program will be matched with the selected students applicants based on logistics and professor preferences.

Students who join the ISS Undergraduate Program are expected to be highly motivated students with a strong interest in both research and career development. In addition to a summer research project the ISS Undergraduate Program includes complementary specialized training valued at up to $1500 including: attendance at the ISS Summer School conference, hands-on training in either Microfabrication techniques or Surface Chemistry processes (May 2012), as well a series of business short courses including Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Intellectual Property and Communications and a sensors research seminar series during the summer and the following academic year.
