- 2:00 p.m.

Dr. Ariel Fenster
Life is a risky business...
- 3:00 p.m. (in French)
Ariel Fenster, of 平特五不中鈥檚 Office for Science and Society, presents 鈥淟ife is a risky business鈥. We are constantly bombarded with information about the risks we face in life. As a result, we worry. We worry about the dangers of climate change, the safety of our food supply and now, about the H1N1 flu pandemic. Life is indeed a risky business and we will not come out of it alive! This interactive lecture sorts out facts and myths to show that the real dangers are not always where they are thought to be.

...AND some quirky science demonstrations by students scientists in the Redpath Museum Club, the WOW Lab and Math or Magic.
Get your hands on some real dinosaur bones or check out the inside of a meteorite that crashed to earth four billion years ago. Or make your own fossil replica such as a Carcharodon shark tooth or hadrosaur toe bone to take home. Students from the WOW Lab Science Education R&D Project will show you how to turn water ripples into music, turn a paper plate into a speaker, bend light with Jell-O, lift a person off the ground with one hand and make a train levitate.

LOCATION: Wong Building, 1060 University. Entrance via Milton and University. Parking on campus limited.
FREE, appropriate for ALL AGES !
