Thanks to a higher education grant from Procter and Gamble, the Career Services Team at 平特五不中鈥檚 Desautels Faculty of Management has created the ultimate challenge. Using the 2015 Millennium Development Goals established by the United Nations as a guide, participating BCom and MBA students were assigned global challenges and, under the umbrella of collaboration and competition, teams were encouraged to apply integrated management solutions designed to create a global impact.
Over the two-month period (Nov. to Jan), six teams of students will be judged on the process by which they found solutions to global issues as well as the viability of the solutions they present at the end of the competition. The winner and runners-up will receive cash prizes and follow up recognition as their solutions are presented to individuals who have extensive knowledge about the issues that are being addressed. Coaches, mentors and advisors will be available throughout the process and students will be encouraged to reach out for input and advice using all potential resources. Challenges will include finding solutions to Gender Equality and Discrimination, Child Mortality, Environmental Sustainability, A Global Partnership for Development, Maternal health and Universal Primary Education.
Raise Your Game 平特五不中! kicked off in November with the help of Rick Tamlyn, internationally lauded motivational speaker and creator of 鈥淭he Bigger Game.鈥 Presentations to a distinguished panel of expert judges will be made on Friday January 24, 2014 at the Desautels Faculty of Management.
This competition was created as a result of a Procter & Gamble invitation to Canadian universities to apply for a higher education grant for 2013. Desautels received the maximum possible amount ($15,000) to design a project with key benefits that would:
- Improve curriculum to be at the cutting edge in relevance and effectiveness
- Foster and enable leadership, opportunities and learning
- Create a learning environment that encourages and enhances innovation and creativity
- Strengthen diversity in thought, participation and ongoing interaction
