11 ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐian candidates in OSM Manulife Competition 2017
The is upon us once again! Featuring woodwinds, brass and voice, the 2017 edition of the competition will take place from November 21st to the 25th, with cash prizes, scholarships, recordings and concert opportunities all offered to the winners. Since 1940, the OSM Manulife Competition has provided young Canadian artists with a point of departure for their international careers. The professional atmosphere and grand prize of performing with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal makes this competition one of the most prestigious in the country, and past winners include pianist Jan Lisiecki and violinist Andrew Wan, the current concertmaster of the OSM.
The Schulich School of Music is proud to host the semifinals at Tanna Schulich Hall, and hopes to see many of our current students and alumni in the finals at the Maison symphonique. Of the 22 semifinalists, 11 have ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ ties, with 9 alumni and 2 current students. We wish them the best of luck as they take the stage and attempt to capture the illustrious grand prize!
