About the ensemble

Drawn from a talented pool of doctors, students, medical faculty, colleagues and friends, the orchestra brings a unique artistic and social dimension to medical education and the medical profession. I Medici di 平特五不中 ensemble is distinctive as an institution at the University, perhaps the only organized activity at the University that brings over 60 staff, students and alumni together for regular social interaction and community outreach and support, such as these special concerts.

Conducted by Maestro Gilles Auger, graduate of the Julliard School, New York, and prodigy of Leonard Bernstein, is a conductor who loves the passion of amateur musicians and knows how to get their best performance. The excellence and dedication of the group and extensive repertoire attracts the participation of first-rate soloists, professional musicians such as Kyoko Hashimoto, Jacqueline Leclair, St茅phane T茅treault, Emmanuel Vukovich, and many others including first-rate amateurs from the medical profession.

Founded in 1989 by Dr. A.L. Padjen, now in its 26th season of regular public concerts with over 170 performances, including several recent benefit concerts for the Montreal Children鈥檚 Hospital Foundation and regular performances in the palliative care in the Montreal General Hospital.
