Concert to Raise Awareness of Parkinson's Disease
To kick off the Month of Parkinson鈥檚 Disease, Dr. Edward A Fon (Ted), Scientific Director of the Montreal Neurological Institute will give a TED Talk, a 15 minute presentation of latest understanding of Parkinson鈥檚 disease and its treatments.听 This talk will be of interest to those who suffer from this debilitating disease and those who care for them.听

Drawn from a talented pool of doctors, students, medical faculty, colleagues and friends, the orchestra brings a unique artistic and social dimension to medical education and the medical profession. I Medici di 平特五不中 ensemble is distinctive as an institution at the University, perhaps the only organized activity at the University that brings over 65 staff, students, alumni and friends together for regular social interactions and community outreach and support, such as this special concert.
Maestro Gilles Auger, Conductor and Music Director
Born in Quebec City, Gilles Auger is a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School of Music (New York) and a student of the late Leonard Bernstein. He is currently a conductor and teacher at the Quebec Conservatory and music director of the L茅vis Symphony Orchestra.
Dr. Edward A. Fon, MD, Professor, Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, 平特五不中. Scientific Director of the Montreal Neurological Institute.
He is a clinician-scientist at the Neuro where he practices in the area of Parkinson鈥檚 disease and movement disorders. He serves as Director of the 平特五不中 National Parkinson Foundation Centre of Excellence and of the FRQS Quebec Parkinson Network. Dr. Fon's research focusses on the molecular events leading to the degeneration of dopamine neurons in Parkinson's disease.
