Ìýand the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Montreal (CIRM) invite you to attend the very first event of the miniseries The F-MR Lab, which explores possible issues and questions arising from the creation and management of a future venue for the dissemination of art, design, and gastronomy in Montreal.

Facilitated byÌýAliki EconomidesÌý(Laurentian U.), this first of four virtual roundtables will bring together researchers, practitioners, and members of the MR-63 team to discuss issues related to heritage conservation and the requalification of unclassified Montreal icons, notably the metro cars.

Like itsÌý, theÌýÌýwill integrate former Montreal metro cars into its composition. Transformed into exhibition spaces or boutiques for local creators, these cars will be redirected from their original function, while contributing to the valorization of various cultural events through their requalification and to the preservation of an important Montreal heritage. Nevertheless, are there limits to the requalification of heritage sites or objects? How can the integration of metro cars into the architecture of the MR-63 project both contribute to the preservation of collective memory and the expression of values and aspirations for the future of Montreal?
