Science Matters: The Actuarial Profession

The Actuarial Profession: Opportunities Here and Abroad

Speaker: Dave Pelletier, FSA, FCIA, is Chair of the International Relations Council of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and serves on the boards of Equitable Life of Canada, RGA Life Reinsurance Company of Canada, and the Global Risk Institute in Financial Services. Mr. Pelletier is also a past president of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, past chair of the (Canadian) Actuarial Standards Board, and past CEO of RGA Life Reinsurance Company of Canada. He is currently Co-Chair of the Faculty Advisory Board for 平特五不中鈥檚 Faculty of Science.

Presentation: Dave, also known as the Travelling Actuary, will bring the wisdom he has learned through a career that spans many countries, companies, and job responsibilities. He will give an overview of the profession, where it is heading, and career advice for future actuaries. After the presentation there will be a question and answer period.
