2018 Canadian Liberal Arts Fair

The (鈥淐LAA鈥) is pleased to announce the inaugural . If you are studying in the #LiberalArts, #Humanities, or any allied discipline, the Fair is organized to help you imagine (and even plan) a more concrete and realistic path toward success, whatever that might mean for you.

Date & Time: 17 November 2018 from 12PM to 4PM.

Location: Biblioth猫que et Archives nationale de Qu茅bec (鈥淏AnQ鈥; 475 de Maisonneuve East, Montreal, QC, H2L 5C4, metro Berri-UQAM).

Program

Opportunities Space opens (12:00 PM). We have recruited sponsors who offer all kinds of opportunities鈥攙olunteering, academic programs, internships, etc.鈥攃onnected to the liberal arts, humanities, etc.

Panel on Liberal Arts for Professional Success (12:30 鈥 1:30 PM). We will be interviewing three alumni of programs in the liberal arts, humanities, etc., to discuss how their academic training has nourished their professional success.

  • Paul Sheridan, ON Ministry of the Attorney General.

Reflection Workshop (2:30 PM 鈥 3:30 PM). Our partner will be leading a workshop entitled Disconnected in a connected world: How can we think together authentically? Participants will reflect together, demonstrating some of the key competencies students develop through training in the liberal arts, humanities, etc.

About the CLAA

The CLAA is an initiative of the in Montr茅al, Qu茅bec. The CLAA exists to support and promote the #LiberalArts, #Humanities, and connected fields in Canada, in both formal educational institutions and among the general public. We view the liberal arts broadly as a grouping of disciplines鈥攂ound together by a common educational approach鈥攖hat participates in an evolving tradition. By 鈥渆ducational approach,鈥 the CLAA envisions a methodical, self-driven, open-minded pursuit of knowledge and understanding appropriate not only for students working their way through institutionalized curricula, but also for curious, reflective adults.
